Lead an army of ants to defeat a spreading corruption!
This is an RTS currently in development that is a submission  to "Pirate Software - Game Jam 14" and takes inspiration from "Creeper World".

Controls:

Click the ant buttons on the bottom left while you have at least 1 larva (the orange circle, you get 1 every 3 seconds) and the required sugar cost to spawn that ant next to the larva pile (the orange dots).

To move your ants, right click a tile to open a menu that lets you select a type of ant. All ants of the selected type will automatically move towards that tile.

Move the camera with WASD or the arrow keys.

Objective:

Defeat the Core in the top left. Don't let the Corruption reach the Queen.

Strategy:

Basic and Engineer ants (the ones with the hard hats) are good at collecting sugar, just lead them to where it is, they'll even automatically go back to drop it off at the Queen (and therefore your inventory) once they collect it.

The Core slowly increases in how fast it makes Corruption, once you have a stable food supply, make a bunch of Fighter ants (the ones with the swords) to attack it before it ramps up too much. Ants will not be able to march through corruption unless they mostly cleared the tile they stand on, so send multiple ants to clear the way.

The Core is the source of the Corruption, you don't have to worry about Corruption spreading if you cut it off from the Core.

Planned future additions:

Ability to pause. Additional more interesting levels. Engineer rework (I plan on having the engineer able to construct walls, roads, and other upgrades). Corruption being able to turn sugar tiles into additional cores. Better visuals to indicate corruption values. Improved UX. Clicking on tiles or ants for stats.

Fun concept! I can't wait to see how it develops!

Fun game but there seem to be some invincible corruption blocks in the top left, no matter how many fighters I send it just doesn't go away

Thanks for letting me know! I probably wouldn't have found that before the jam ended. Turns out if a unit dies it still considers the tile occupied because I forgot to have it unset that, making it impossible to send another unit onto that tile (making that tile impossible to clear corruption from). I'll have that fixed in the next release, along with another bug where most of the top left tile is unclickable.

Very fun game
